The elaborately crafted badge of honour for the 25th birthday of Crown Prince Wilhelm, later Kaiser Wilhelm II, was presumably created in 1884 and is one of the particularly rare badges of honour of the House of Hohenzollern. The front bears the characteristic monogram "A & W" for Auguste Victoria and Wilhelm, a symbol of the personal connection of the imperial house with selected members of the Prussian officer corps. Such pieces were exclusively awarded to officers who were close to the court or had shown special loyalty (dimensions: 3.5 x 4.5 cm).

Inside the badge of honour are two carefully arranged portraits: Auguste Victoria in an elegant pose and Wilhelm in military uniform. These portraits give the object an intimate, personal touch and illustrate the stylized closeness between the monarchy and the recipient – a typical feature of the military commemorative culture of the German Empire.

The badge of honour is in its original case, the lid of which is embossed with the large coat of arms of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg (dimensions: 13 x 11.5 cm). The connection to Hamburg most likely refers to the traditional Infantry Regiment "Hamburg" (2nd Hanseatic) No. 76, which was stationed in Hamburg between 1867 and 1919 and also in Lübeck until 1897. As a significant unit of the Prussian Army, the regiment embodied Hanseatic loyalty, military discipline, and the close bond between the city and the imperial house.

The collection also includes an early double portrait of the later imperial couple, photographed by Theodor Prümm, Berlin. The photograph fits the badge of honour perfectly in terms of time and style and emphasizes its representative character (dimensions: 10.5 x 16.5 cm).
