As Duchess of Brunswick-Lüneburg, through her marriage to \u003cstrong\u003ePrince Ernst August of Hanover\u003c\/strong\u003e in 1913, she became a bridge-builder between the Houses of Hohenzollern and Welf. The images document her in magnificent court gowns, at public appearances, with her family, and in uniform as regimental commander of the \"Death's Head Hussars.\"\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003e \u003cspan\u003eAfter the end of the monarchy, Viktoria Luise became involved in charitable projects and published several memoirs, the authorship of which is disputed. Her photographs from the Nazi era show her close to the party leadership, which was later criticized.
